Spiral Point Taps: the point of a spiral point plug tap is to eliminate chip disposal problems and to prevent thread damage. They are designed to create threads in through holes as the point pushes the chips through the hole opening.
STEAM OXIDE SURFACE TREATMENT: increases wear resistance, reduces friction, acts as a lubricant, reduces galling and chip welding. Improves chip flow and increases tap lubricant retention. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NON-FERROUS MATERIALS.* you probably shouldn't use this tap to cut aluminum.** but if you're cutting steel or something that has a decent amount of iron in it, this tap might work really well.
